これはホームページのタイトル通り，利根川進さんの自叙伝である．
内容は，専門用語がほとんど出てきておらず，上で訪れたMITよりもはるかに簡単であった．
利根川進さんに興味を持つ僕としては，非常に価値のあるホームページであると感じた．
そして，「精神と物質」の中で利根川さんが語っていた，自らが分子生物学に進もうと思った
理由がここにも語られていた．その一節を下に引用した．

I became fascinated by the then blossoming science of molecular biology 
when in my senior year I happened to read the papers by Francis Jacob and Jacques Monod 
on the operon theory.
